Scholarships Insight

Welcome Back!

Are you ready for another fun and exciting school year? Last year, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation awarded nearly $2 million in scholarships! Now, we're gearing up for the reopening of our scholarship application website, AcademicWorks. On October 1, students can apply for scholarships for the 2018-19 academic year. Before the site reopens, it's a good time to familiarize yourself with what is needed to apply for a scholarship and what the process will look like.

Through our application process, the General Application funnels students into one of three applicant pools including high school, college and renewal. From there, students will have the opportunity to apply for scholarships that may be more specific for them. Encourage your students to begin applying on October 1 by completing the General Application so they can get a head start on unique opportunities. Remind students to pay special attention to each scholarship's DEADLINE, as they all vary. For more information, visit

Students can now access a brief, five-minute video guiding them through each step of our scholarship application process. This video is a great tool for teachers, counselors and administrators to use when working with college-bound students considering applying for a scholarship from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

New This Year!

Have You Heard?

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) and the Oklahoma College Assistance Program (OCAP) are now offering a new online tool to help counselors, principals and mentors assist high school seniors with completion of theFAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The Oklahoma FAFSA Data Portal (OK-FDP) allows authorized individuals from Oklahoma who have signed a data agreement to access student-level information regarding FAFSA completion status. Find how your school can gain access to this portal here.
